Following a year of R&D and significant investment in a new anchor testing facility at our Aberdeen HQ, we are proud to announce the launch of two new drag anchor solutions – TITAN and TERRA.
These anchors represent a step change in the market, combining operational efficiency with superior holding capacity across a range of seabed conditions, including harsher environments.
Following the launch, we received our first order: eight 15 mT TERRA anchors supplied for a MODU mooring system installed in the North Sea.
TERRA features optimised shank designs for handling, cranked or elbowed shanks for improved penetration, conical fluke shapes for stability, large fluke areas for high holding capacity, dedicated lift points for certified lifting, and three pick points per fluke side to tackle hard seabed conditions.
FMS Managing Director Steven Brown comments: “Our core business has always been the installation of mooring equipment and we are renowned across the global energy and maritime industries for our expertise. Following feedback from our customers, bringing an innovative approach to the drag anchor market was a natural next step for the growth of our business.
“We’re proud of the results and delighted to see the TERRA set to be deployed so soon after launch. In TITAN and TERRA, we have created two products which offer optimised performance, improved operational handling, and the reliability our clients have come to expect from FMS.”
